What does "No Win No Fee" actually mean?
‘No win no fee’ (a Conditional Fee Agreement, or CFA) means you can make a claim through Walker Prestons Solicitors regardless of your financial situation. If your claim is unsuccessful, you won’t have to pay us for the work we’ve carried out.
If your claim is successful, a success fee and certain costs will be deducted from your compensation in line with the standard Law Society agreement. All deductions are explained to you clearly before you proceed. We never charge hidden or unexpected fees.
Will I have to pay a fee a fee if I win my claim?
Yes. Under a CFA, if your claim succeeds, our fees will be deducted from your compensation. The percentage and terms will be set out in your agreement at the start of your case, so you always know where you stand.
In most cases, the other side also contributes towards your legal costs. You will never be asked to pay anything upfront, and you will always be told in advance what deductions will apply.
How much compensation will I get for my injuries?
The amount of compensation depends on several factors, including:
- The severity of your injury.
- The effect on your daily life.
- Any loss of earnings from time off work.
- Expenses such as travel to medical appointments or treatment
We understand that personal injury can create immediate financial difficulties. That’s why we can offer an advance of up to £2,000 for eligible clients, helping to relieve the pressure while your claim is ongoing.

How long will a personal injury claim take?
Can I still make a claim if my accident happened some time ago?
Most accident claims must be started within three years of the date of the accident. This period is known as the limitation period.
However, in cases such as industrial disease or hearing loss, symptoms may only appear many years later. You may still be able to claim even if the employer responsible has since closed down.
If you’re concerned the limitation period has passed or is about to expire, contact Walker Prestons Solicitors today for expert, impartial advice.
If my accident happened at work and I make a claim against my employer, can they dismiss me?
Making a personal injury claim against your employer can feel daunting. You may worry about being treated differently at work or even losing your job. However, it is illegal for your employer to dismiss or discipline you for bringing a claim – doing so could amount to Unfair Dismissal.
Most employers handle claims responsibly and have insurance in place to cover employee personal injury cases. If your employer does dismiss you because you made a claim, you may also be entitled to bring a further claim forUnfair Dismissal. The law protects employees who have suffered because of their employer’s negligence.
