Asbestos Claims

As a dangerous substance, exposure to asbestos can have life changing implications. Asbestos exposure can cause life changing illnesses such as asbestosis and mesothelioma.

If your employer failed to provide you and other employees with personal protective equipment (PPE) and did not educate staff members on the dangers of exposure to asbestos you will be able to make an asbestos claim for the illness you have suffered as a result.

What is Asbestos?

Up to the late 1990s asbestos was used to insulate buildings and as a method of preventing fire. Unfortunately the companies using asbestos did not understand the huge implications the fibrous material would have on the individuals that were exposed to it.

Asbestos comes in three types, blue, brown and white and it can come in all shapes, sizes and colours. Even the tiniest level of exposure to the asbestos fibres on a regular basis can lead to diseases later in life.

Inhaling loose asbestos fibres has been proven to cause serious lung diseases such as asbestosis, mesothelioma and pleural plaques.

Asbestos Symptoms

Asbestos may eventually scar the lungs of people who have been exposed to it. This can lead to a number of symptoms including, progressive shortness of breath, a persistent cough, wheezing and fatigue. In more advanced cases, be aware of clubbed (swollen) fingertips.

Asbestos Compensation

Exposure to asbestos may happen in the workplace or in the home. Asbestos has been used in many, many products, such as car brake shoes and clutch pads, and building materials, including paints and adhesives and ceiling and floor tiles.

If you have been exposed to asbestos at work and have developed asbestosis as a result, you can make a claim against your employer.

Making an Asbestos Claim

We have a team of dedicated solicitors who specialise in asbestos claims, striving to secure the compensation that our clients deserve.

We have dealt with claims where loved ones are seeking compensation on behalf of a relative who has been affected by an asbestos related disease.

Being awarded compensation can help to pay for medical bills and care to support those suffering from an asbestos related illness.

We understand that compensation cannot undo the damage that has been done from asbestos exposure, however it can help to provide much needed financial support during a difficult time.
